We want everyone to be able to use this website, whatever device, ability or connection they have. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
What we have done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, and the focus is always visible.
- A “Skip to content” link sits at the top of every page.
- Text and buttons meet the AA contrast ratio. We checked this with an automated tool on every page type.
- Pages use headings in order and landmarks such as the main content and navigation, so screen readers can jump around.
- Photographs of the works have text descriptions that give the title, the year and the artist.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, animations are replaced by simple fades or switched off.
- The layout works from a 360 px wide phone to a large desktop screen.
What we have not done yet
- No independent audit has been carried out, and automated tools find only some problems.
- The descriptions of the works are short. They do not describe every detail of each sculpture.
- Some links go to other websites, and we cannot vouch for their accessibility.
